The Splatmandu Gavel - 2003
Joe Neal holds the "Splatmandu Gavel". Any and
all disputes can be taken to Joe. JOE HAS THE FINAL WORD!!!
Key Members - 2003
Announced on opening day were the names of eight "key
members" for the 2003 season. These are the "go
to" club members if you have questions or concerns.
Ted Cross, Kathy Cross,
Nick Fletcher, Abe Hohnke,
Nate Hohnke, Joe Neal,
John Rowan and Karl Ruedger.
"ONE-TEN EFFORT - 2003 SEASON"
Remember it is the 110% effort of our club members that
keeps Splatmandu alive. So when you see the 110% pin,
please thank the person wearing it!

Countless hours of time, grueling hours of labor and many
dollars worth of materials were donated by these individuals!

FOOD DRIVE RESULTS: (Sept. 29)
Splatmandu outdoes itself! $1,008.35 in
food/supplies was donated to the Domestic Assault Shelter
of Three Rivers, surpassing last year's contribution.
"Go For the Gold"
On Sunday, July 20, 2003, Nate successfully retrieved
his fifth "bag of gold" in a single season.
On Sunday, October 19, 2003, John successfully retrieved
his fifth "bag of gold" in a single season.
Both Nate and John were awarded the coveted "Go For
The Gold" pin. Anyone who has ever retrieved the
gold to win the game in the Mine Field (or anyone who
got shot trying) will agree, this is NOT an easy feat.
Congratulations Nate and John!

ALAMO STATS - 2003 SEASON
ALAMO "HOPPER" RECORD - (June 10)
53 seconds. The five defenders who hold
the record are:
Jim Nelson, Bill Hearns, Chad Ostertag, Chris
Gracey and Mike Truckey.
ALAMO "ONE-BALL" RECORD - (Oct. 19)
2 minutes 32 seconds. The five defenders
who hold the record are: TJ Baker,Ted Cross, Joe
Neal, John Rowan and Karl Ruedger.
SPLATMANDU FIRSTS
June 21st: Splatmandu's oldest player (76 years)
and Splatmandu's first deaf player (a challenge for our
referees and a learning experience for all).
September 13th: FIRST ANNUAL 110% AND KEY MEMBERS APPRECIATION
DINNER and NIGHT GAME.
October 19th: FIRST WOMAN TO DEFEND THE ALAMO
Mary Marker became the first woman to enter the
Alamo (Full Hopper) with the defenders.

THANK YOU to the 141 Players who Played With Honor!
THANK YOU to all the people in orange. NICK and RUSTY
for running all day as reinsertion referees. DALE, ALISON,
SHANNON, MAGGIE, VICKI and JESSA who dutifully watched
over the flag stations and recorded the completion of
successful missions. JOE for controlling the chrono and
the activities in the Neutral Zone. ABE and KATHY for
acting as “floating” referees and JEN, our
very own Splatmandu Film Crew. THANK YOU TO ALL THE MOTHERS,
FATHERS, GIRLFRIENDS AND WIVES OF THE PLAYERS. Your support
and understanding is always appreciated...much more than
you are told.
A special thanks to my wife, Kathy. Her understanding
of the game... her understanding of the players...and
