NEWS AND UPDATES - 2007

November 1, 2007

WHAT A YEAR! Time sure flies why you are having fun huh? We have finally finished off the 2007 season at Splatmandu. Our Haunted forest raised enough to buy the DASC the new front-loading washer and dryer set, plus enough was left over to go on a shopping spree for toiletries and other items needed in the home right now.

Tony and Rod in the Dentist's office (M-89)

Even though we had to close down the Haunt at 9:30pm on Friday due to thundershowers, Saturday's crowd put us over our goal by 10pm! Thank you one and all the were in attendance of our show, as well as all those that donned the costumes and scared people! Thank you, thank you for all that you have done, and we sincerely appreciate each and every one of your efforts this season.

Have a safe and happy holiday season, and can't wait to see all you groundhogs in February!

September 30, 2007

How the season passes when you are having fun! Today was our last day of play for the 2007 Paintball Season. We would like to thank each and every one of you for a great season, and for proving that "Playing With Honor" can be done consistently. Our final waiver count for this year topped out at 707, with 4 new waivers last Sunday, and our final 3 today.

Even though the Paintball season is over, there is still much going on around Splatmandu! We are now shifting gears towards SplatmanBOO, which for those that aren't aware, is our 2-day Haunted Forest that we put on for the Community at large. This event is used to raise even more in donations for the Domestic Assault Shelter. They have told us that they would love a new front-loading Washer and Dryer set, so that is our goal for this season.

All those interested in either helping with the building process, or are interested in acting in the event, please come out one of the next three Saturdays or Sundays, and we'll get you started! Even if you aren't available to help with SplatmanBOO, we'd like to call on our faithful paintballers one more time this season to come through the event on either Friday, October 26, or Saturday, October 27, 2007. It's $5.00 a person, and we guarantee you it'll be worth the money. You'll be amazed at how this field can change!

Thank you again for all you have done to help our club and your fellow man this year. Have a safe off-season!

BIG GAME XI- September 16, 2007

It was agreed by all support staff, this year's BIG GAME was the smoothest ever! We cannot thank everyone enough for PLAYING WITH HONOR, and playing the game as intended. We thank our 48 new club members who joined us all today, hope you had as much fun as we did! We honored 5 more 110%ers this season. We'd like to thank Bill and Laurie, Adam, Corryn, and Galesburg Meat Company for all your help in making Splatmandu great!

For today's final showdown, here's a synopsis:

BIG GAME : KGB Ranch (Blue) had 90 players on the field today. Starting from their homebase flag station by the Apex, Blue quickly took control of both the Tee Pee and Edge City Flag stations, and controlled them both for the 2 hour game, getting the $ 4,000.00 possible. Each of the Top Five battled to complete their own character-specific mission. Although not all were successful, The Cowboy earned $600.00, the Fur Trapper earned $1,200.00, the Miner earned $300.00 of the $900.00 possible, and the Gambler earned $600.00. The KGB Ranch also was the first to complete the Teamwork Mission, and added $3,000.00 to their total. $300.00 was earned from shooting the Savages. $1,500.00 in penalty points were deducted from the team. An additional $300.00 was deducted in Captain/Co-Captain Life cards lost. In the end, KGB RANCH WON THE DAY with a total team score of $19,055.00.

The Teamwork Missions - the Blue and Gray Cowboy

CJW Ranch (Gray) had 94 players on the field. Starting from their homebase flag station behind the Mine Field, Gray took control of the Pasture Flag station, and controlled it for the 2 hours, getting the $ 2,000.00 possible. Each of the Top Five battled to complete their own character-specific mission. Although not all were successful, the Miner earned $900.00, the Gunslinger earned $800.00, and the Gambler earned $300.00 of the $600.00 possible. $300.00 was earned from shooting the "Chief" Indian, and $200.00 for his Savages. Unfortunately $1,500.00 in penalty points were deducted from the team total. After additionally deducting $50.00 in Co-Captain Life cards lost, CJW ended the day was a commendable total team score of $18,385.00.

Congratulations to Korey Blasius and Todd Tippett, for leading your KGB Ranch to glory this day! It is important to note that Korey is the youngest Captain on record since Splatmandu began it's BIG GAME tradition, and is the ONLY team leader to come back and win after being behind leading up to the BIG GAME. This game also had the closest margin, with only $670.00 points separating the two teams.

$2,000.00!

THANK YOU ONE AND ALL FOR YOUR CARING AND GENEROSITY!

Donations delivered to the DAS of Three Rivers from Splatmandu...

On Monday, all canned goods were delivered to the DAS, and then Kathy and Jen went shopping with the remaining $400.00, getting the shelter stocked up with various hamburger, chicken, pork loin, etc. Toilet paper and freezer bags were also on the wish list.

Preparations are underway full-swing for SPLATMANBOO! Haunted Forest. If you would like to participate, please contact us in the Neutral Zone or send us an email for more information. If you don't want to act, at least come through it! Our goal is to buy the DAS a new front-loading Washer and Dryer set, so let's make it happen!

Thank you one and all for an amazing season. We appreciate each and every one of you! Remember, there are still two Sundays left in September to play, so feel free to come back out!

September 8 and 9 2007

A special thank you goes out to all those 110%ers and Key Members that attended this year's FISH FRY. We appreciate all you do, and thank you Karl and Shannon for the wonderful fish yet again!

Splatmandu took on some serious water Saturday night, making play on Sunday mucky at best. Reports from players on the field stated that the Mag Valley bowl was filled with about a foot of water, and to run back the Gold in the Mine Field, you'd need a small boat! We had one new waiver today, so thank you for coming out!

Hopefully everyone is ready and excited for Splatmandu's 11th Annual BIG GAME, set to go for next Sunday, September 16, 2007. A final reminder, make sure you bring a canned good for the food drive, as all the donations will be delivered to the Domestic Assault Shelter on Monday, September 17, 2007. Enjoy this week, see you soon!

September 2, 2007

Aren't we sneaky? Those that attended today's Scenario were in for quite a surprise.. INDIAN ATTACK! Instead of the normal Blue versus Gray battle, Ted's Reds split the forces, combining the Top Seven from each side along with 54+ other players to "circle the wagons" in the Hornet's Nest as "Cowboys". Ted's Reds tried to take every player that signed a waiver today (31 -  WELCOME!) and along with the 11 Ted's Reds in attendance, took an additional 14 players (give or take a few) who were formerly Blue or Gray, and turned them all into Reds' Indians. The "Cowboys" of the Hornet's Nest had around 68 players, and the Red's Indians had no more than 66.

Joe, member of Ted's Reds Indians, briefing his squad on the attack strategy.

Although no points were gained or lost today, we do sincerely appreciate the chance to let Ted's Reds have their own little BIG GAME. Most people had a good time, and for those that felt a little upset at the change of game, we do apologize. Some moments were quite intense, so we are very thankful to those that maintained trigger control, and played the game as intended... with HONOR, for those 35 minutes of game play. Although Ted's Reds Indians were victorious, we would like to thank you yet again for giving these guys this opportunity, as for most, this is their last Scenario game of the season.

For those that didn't get to the far side of the Painted Forest recently, we'd like to mention GREAT JOB so far to Ray, Scotty B. and all those other members who have been working so hard to get the newest bunker, the Witches' Shack completed.

The Witches' Shack: located between Ft. Tippman and Ft. Mag in the Painted Forest.

The Rules have been posted for the BIG GAME XI, to take place Sunday, September 16, 2007. Time is growing short to get in your donations for the Domestic Assault Shelter food drive, so this is a gentle reminder to BRING YOUR DONATIONS in the next two weeks! Thanks for a great day of Paintball, and we'll see you all again real soon!

August 26, 2007

Good turnout for a beautiful Sunday! We would like to wish Chief and Conner both a HAPPY BIRTHDAY today, as well as welcome our newest 15 club members to Splatmandu! Papa and John Shay came out to visit as well, and we were so happy to see you! Thank you all for a great day! See you next weekend for Scenario!

August 19, 2007

Well, this is now the SECOND time in Splatmandu history that we've had to close the place down. With threats of severe thunderstorms with lightning called for all day, we had no choice but to turn away anxious Paintballers this past Sunday. We hated to do it, but as always, safety first! We hope you'll all give us a try again next weekend!

August 12, 2007

We added 5 new waivers to our ever-growing list of new club members this warm weekend! Thank you to all who came out to play today! For those who have anxiously been awaiting a ruling on the possible point change for last weekend's scenario, we would like everyone to know that scores as posted below stand, with no changes made. Clarifications will be posted in the rules for September's installment of RANGE WARS 2007. We thank you all for your patience!

August 6, 2007

What a sticky, humid weekend! We had our lowest numbers for scenario so far this year, with 90 players on the field this Sunday. Lower numbers didn't mean less action however; both teams played at the top of their game to complete missions. We had 27 new players to Splatmandu today, thanks for coming out! That brings our yearly waiver count to 599 for the year so far. We also added three more members to the coveted 110%er list : Jon Jon, "Super" Mike, and Lisa. Thank you for going above and beyond to help our club thrive!

For those that didn't know, we have added 2 more Key Members to the growing list of people Splatmandu just can't live without! Congratulations to Jon and Amy Baker, for all the hard work and enthusiasm that you bring to Splatmandu. We really do appreciate everything you do, and you have been added to the Key Member "Wall of Fame"!.

Hour Five: KGB Ranch (Blue) had 39 players, and ended the day with $685.00 worth of coins deposited at the bank, and 25 diamonds worth $620.00 from the Miners. The Gamblers collected the most cards, winning the team poker game with a Flush and a prize of $50.00. KGB's Ranch Hands were also successful in completing their Homestead property fence, allowing for for a total of $350.00 worth of items to count at their base at the end of the game. After the hour, the Gunslingers pulled in an additional $200.00 in Duels, for an August Scenario total of

$ 1,905.00, adding to the team total so far this year to $ 10,005.00.

KGB Ranch's competed property fence at their Homestead

CJW Ranch (Gray) had 40 players, ended the day with $2,010.00 in coins deposited at the bank, and 17 diamonds worth $340.00 from the Miners. Pelts returned from the Fur Trappers earned the ranch another $60.00. After the hour, the Gunslinger Duel gave the Gray team another $100.00, for a total of $2,510.00 for the day, bringing the total for the year so far in at $ 14,235.00.

Since the CJW Ranch was unable to complete their Homestead property fence, 5 soil samples and 4 cows will be waiting to be taken to the Stockyard for September's Scenario, (unless the fence is completed).

Thank you to all the Cowboys and Gamblers that showed up to the "Extreme Rodeo Poker" event after the game. Although the Ted's Reds pulled out the win on this one, great card shootin' and gambling was noticed, appreciated, and not to mention, fun to watch!

Great sportsmanship and teamwork was seen from both sides, and we all thank you for Playing With Honor yet again.

July 29, 2007

Six new waivers to add this week, thank you all for coming! There were lower numbers than usual this weekend, but there was still a lot of great paintball played! Thank you all for the fun, and see you next weekend for August's installment of the RANGE WARS 2007 Scenario!

July 22, 2007

Wonderful weather yet again. Feels like we say that every week, but it's true! The "Dome" sure holds at Splatmandu. Jason Moulenbelt graced us with his presence this weekend, and we hear he'll be back again next weekend. Thanks for making the trip from Texas to visit with us, and nice to have you back! James also made the trek (hurt leg and all) to hang out with us in the Neutral Zone. It was great to see you as well!

We have 10 new club members to add to the ever-growing list. Thank you thank you! A very special THANK YOU goes out to our newest 110%er, Ronny Hawkins, who took it upon himself to build the platform in front of the viewing window in the Neutral Zone. It is a great addition!

All players played with Honor this weekend, and for that all of Splatmandu is appreciative. See you soon!

July 15, 2007

Thanks to everyone on behalf of Splatmandu as well as Tammy and James, for the great showing of support on Saturday at James's surprise Open House. Get well soon James! We all miss you and can't wait to see you up and running again.

It was another wonderful weekend full of smiling faces once again on the fields. Welcome to our 8 newest club members who came out. We appreciate you all!

July 8, 2007

95 degrees and you crazy people still wanted to play paintball! We thank you all for coming out and giving it a try today, despite the temperatures. We also managed to get 5 new club members... WELCOME!

July 1, 2007

Another great day for paintball. We would like to thank all 172 players on the field for Playing With Honor, hope you had a good time! That brings our year total so far to 543 members this season. We announced 3 new 110%ers today... big thanks to Karl, Shannon, and Ben for all the hard work. You know we really appreciate it.

Hour Four: KGB Ranch (Blue) had 80 players, and ended the day with $710.00 worth of coins deposited at the bank, and $1,340 in diamonds from the Miners. The Gamblers collected the most cards, winning the team poker game with a flush, for a total of $ 2,100.00, bringing the team total this year to $ 8,300.00. Unfortunately, KGB did not reach the minimum requirement of (10) Ammo Boxes returned to their homestead by the hour's end, so all Gunslingers next month must play with only a hopper and 2 pods.

Because some items were not returned to Edge City, KGB Ranch will have 6 Cows, 5 Horses, and 1 soil sample for the start of August's Scenario.

Money in the Bank: The deposits of CJW and KGB Ranches

CJW Ranch (Gray) had 82 players, who turned in $1,200 in diamonds from the Miners. No other items were returned, so no coins were deposited in the bank. The additional wins at the Gunslinger Duel, and the "Sharpshooter" Rodeo event, gave the Gray team a total of $1,810.00 for the day, bringing the total for the year so far in at $ 11,825.00.

CJW Ranch missed 1 cow at their Homestead, so this little fella' will be waiting to be taken to the Stockyard for August's Scenario.

Thank you one and all for YET ANOTHER great day, we love having you here to share an afternoon with us, and can't wait to see you all again really soon!

June 24, 2007

Nice weather, good friends, what more could you ask for? Thank you to our 10 newest club members for coming out today! Also, a big Splatmandu THANKS to all those who put on orange to ref a few games today. It helped everyone have a great (safe) day of paintball. Some more field work has been completed recently. Thanks to Ray, Chris, and Scotty B. for all the work you've been putting in around the fields. The Alamo is in the middle of a face-lift, with a new back wall installed. Also, in preparation for the upcoming SplatmanBOO projects, the Boathouse was reorganized. Next weekend is July's installment of the Range Wars Scenario, so hope to see you all there! (The weather is supposed to be great, so no rain outs this time!)

June 17, 2007

What a HOT weekend! Thanks go out to all those who came out on this humid Father's Day to spend some time with us! Also, Happy Father's Day to all those that we didn't get to say it to personally.

A great day to do some father-son bonding

In addition, we would like to say thanks a bunch to our 5 newest club members, who put us over the 500 mark, with a new year total of 502 for the season so far! Thank you to Tony, who did some Saturday work to the Mine Field, and also to Johnny, who single-handedly filled in most of the "West Nile pond" at the road corner, as well as did some tree-cutting and stick bunker maintenance. That was some hot work, we really appreciate it guys! And as always, Thank you to Ted and Kathy for the beautifully mowed fields and for giving us a place to play!

June 10, 2007

Thank you all who came out for the first time to Splatmandu this beautiful weekend! 12 new members were added to our total for the season. We enjoyed playing with you! In addition, we'd like to thank all those who put on orange and helped us ref today. It was much appreciated. See you next Sunday!

June 3, 2007

For the first time in THIRTEEN YEARS of Splatmandu, our Scenario Sunday was cancelled due to the torrential downpour accompanied by lightning. Amazingly enough, we still managed to entice 24 new members to Splatmandu; terrible weather and all! That brings our yearly total to 485 waivers for the 2007 season so far. The KGB Ranch had 54 players, and the CJW Ranch had 56.

Jon Baker, sporting the poncho in the Neutral Zone

So the day wasn't a total wash, the top Seven from each team were allowed 10 minutes to play "Mud Tag", to determine a portion of the team total for the day. All items gathered on the field of play were to be returned to the Neutral Zone. If a player was tagged by a member of the opposing team, the eliminated player had to drop all items and return to the Neutral Zone to tag back in. Two of the Red's Skins also were released onto the field to keep both teams on their toes. At the end of the 10 minutes, the KGB Ranch (Blue) gathered items totaling 370 in coins , and the CJW Ranch (Gray) gathered items to bring in a total of 140 in coins .

In addition, those Gamblers, Captains and Co-Captains that were interested, met up at the house and engaged in a Texas Hold-em Tournament, to determine the rest of the team total for the day. First place was $3,500.00, and Second place was $1,500.00. To mix things up a bit, one member of Ted's Reds was allowed to participate in the Tournament. This proved to be a bit of a gamble, as Mr. John Black, (John Rowan) and Kid Blaze (Korey Blasius) were in an epic struggle down to the final hour of the tournament. Mr. Black was victorious, getting three Aces to clinch the win. Kid Blaze received the $1,500.00 for the Second Place prize, adding to the KGB Ranch total for the month of June. See the Edge City Epitaph for more images and story.

End of the day totals:

KGB Ranch (Blue): $ 1,870.00

CJW Ranch (Gray): $ 140.00

This brings our Ranch totals to: CJW Ranch (Gray) $10,135.00, and KGB Ranch (Blue) to $6,500.00 for the year so far. Excellent job everyone! The "Mud Tag" was hilarious for those few that withstood the downpour to watch! Those that participated in the Texas Hold-em Tournament, it was great fun, and thank you for your time! We will see you all next weekend, hopefully with better weather, and a different scenario for all you die-hards out there!

May 27, 2007

Another wet day, but still many braved the weather to join us for an amazing day of Paintball! 14 new club members were inducted this weekend, and we are so happy to have you with us! Many more games were hosted for the younger crowd in the Hornet's Nest today, with the same success. Many of our Key Members spent their day reffing instead of playing, so next time you walk into the Neutral Zone, make sure you thank them for their sacrifice.. or better yet, throw on an Orange Vest and give reffing a try! We'd all appreciate it.

May 26, 2007

Well, the weather wasn't that great, but the ONE BALL Scenario sure was! John Wayne would have been proud. Thank you to Team STARS and the rest of you hard-core Scenario players who attended our scenario. A great time was had by all those involved, and we will definitely be doing this again! We even had two new waivers signed this muggy, wet Saturday. Thanks for giving us a try!

May 20, 2007

Lots got done this weekend! Thank you to all those that came out during the week, as well as Saturday to help cut up and remove all the fallen trees from the fields. Lucky for us, no buildings were damaged with the severe weather earlier in the week. Splatmandu would like to say thanks to our 10 newest club members, who signed a waiver this Sunday.

May 13, 2007

Splatmandu would like to wish all the moms a happy Mother's Day, and thank you again for letting your boys spend the afternoon with us! Welcome to our 9 new club members, who signed a waiver this Sunday.

Sheilla - taking a break from Store Duties to join Ted's Reds for a game

Seems like every week we say how wonderful the weather was, and this Sunday was no exception. Thank you Kathy, for all your hard work getting the fields groomed and beautiful (as usual!). Next time you see Kathy, make sure you thank her for her efforts! The website has also been updated with new field photos, so take a look around at what's new!

May 6, 2007

Another great showing this Scenario Sunday! We had 213 players on the field this beautiful day. All players Played With Honor, and all reports were positive. Thank you to all 66 new players to Splatmandu this Sunday... glad you came out!

Kid Blaze - giving team briefing in Edge City May 6th, 2007

Hour Two: KGB Ranch (Blue) had 99 players, and ended the day with 383 coins turned in, for a total of $ 1,915.00, bringing the team total this year to $ 4,630.00.

Eric Crippin - Top Five for CJW Ranch, leading a squad up Fangorn hill

CJW Ranch (Gray) had 100 players who successfully turned in 881 coins for the day. The additional wins at the Gunslinger Duel, Crossfire Rodeo event, and the the best poker hand gave the Gray team a total of

$ 5,590.00. This, combined with Hour One earnings, gives the Gray team a total of $ 9,995.00.

The Ted's Reds Law reported no problems in Edge City, and the Reds Skins were successful in collecting 7 scalps, of the 14 available from the Top Seven from each Ranch. The Edge City Epitaph was added to the web site, which will be updated monthly, so that our die-hard scenario fans can stay updated on the stories of the scenario.

Thank you again for a great day, and we'll see you Sunday!

April 29, 2007

Another great weekend to be at Splatmandu. The weather was perfect, and the numbers were plentiful again! The Neutral Zone addition was painted, and all supply donations were divided and organized back in the supply pile.

Rod and Karl, going over the Rules for the Kid's Game in the Hornet's Nest

Lots of new faces, and quite a few returning club members joined us for an afternoon. A Kid's Game - special to the younger crowd of 10-15

year olds - was held in the Hornet's Nest, and appeared to be a success! Thank you to all that put off mowing your yard to come join us this day, and hope to see you next weekend for Scenario!

April 22, 2007

What a beautiful weekend! SO MUCH got done around the fields on Friday and Saturday. In the Mine Field, the Chapel and the Crew Cut got re-assembled. In Splat City (Edge City) the M-89 was beefed up for Scenario play, the Hornet's nest got a Spring face-lift (thank you Korey!) and much much more!

Rod peeking in at the newly fortified M-89 (or BANK) on Saturday afternoon

                                              Looking for a game...

Sunday was a huge numbers day. Estimates range from 70 to 100 players on the fields throughout the day, and thank you to our 43 new club members for joining us for some fun!

April 14th and 15th 2007

What a weekend! Splatmandu went on the road this Saturday to visit Glenn's 8th Annual BIG GAME at Hole In The Wall. Splatmandu (Yellow) provided a great game for the Home team (Blue). We are so appreciative of the courtesy that Glenn's players and staff showed us. Everyone involved had a great day, we were all so fortunate to be able to play together for a change. Ted was awarded the MVP for the Yellow team. Most of the Splatmandu crowd only played for a portion of the day, but the honor and respect that was shown to the Hole In The Wall crew made us proud. Thank you everyone for holding yourselves to the Splatmandu standard!

Tony, Rod and Josh at Hole In The Wall's 8th Annual Big Game

Sunday was a beautiful day, and we would like to say "welcome" to our 27 new club members that signed a waiver this Sunday!

April 1, 2007

We don't even have the words to say how amazing the day was.

261 WAIVERS for Opening Day; a new Splatmandu Record! 253 Players on the field, plus 8 referees made today one to remember. The weather held out wonderfully, allowing us to pull off the 2 hour season opener with great success! We had 61 Pre-Season 110%ers, also a new record. Thank you to each and every one of you who gave it your all so that the masses could have an amazing place to play.

The KB Ranch out of the Apex

For Hour One: The KB Ranch (Blue) with 121 players, secured the Apex flag station as their Homestead. The Gamblers came through winning the ranch the best Poker hand, and the team total ended at $3,115.00.

The CJW Ranch out of the Mine Field

The CJW Ranch (Gray) with 120 players, secured the Mine Field wall flag station as their Homestead. The Cowboys pulled off the best time in the Barrel Racing Competition at the Rodeo, and the Ranch ended up with a team total of $5,190.00, pulling ahead for hour one of this seven hour scenario.

One of the Red's Skins Ponies: to be returned to the Stockyard in Edge City

Thank you everyone who gave our new format a try, and for all the creativity that was shown in Edge City. For the most part all guns were holstered, and for those times they weren't, you few sneaky outlaws kept it as safe as possible, and for that we thank you.

March 24th and 25th

Who could have asked for a better weekend! We hit a record 78 degrees for Sunday, and it was almost too hot to work in! With time growing short to get all of our pre-season projects accomplished, we are proud to say, everything got done! The Neutral Zone is looking better than it has in years. A fresh coat of paint for most tables, and Scotty B. even added a shelving unit along a good portion of the new front wall!

Tommy and Briar putting in some hard work to get the leaves from the NZ

The Tee Pee for the Indians has been constructed, a new building added to the back tape line of the City, trash and debris has been cleaned up, the Captain and Co-Captain Tunics are finished, and much, much more! Thanks again to our amazing crew for all the extra effort to get everything buttoned up.

Sheilla, Tony, Chris and James all working on the floors of the "strip mall"

We are expecting large numbers for Opening Day, April 1st 2007, so make sure you plan on getting here early to ensure you have a spot in the Neutral Zone, as well as time to get your gear set and air filled before the briefing, which starts PROMPTLY AT 1:00PM. Anyone not in the briefing will have to sit out the game. We are looking forward to another AMAZING year here at Splatmandu, and we are honored to have so many great folks to share it with!

March 17th and 18th

Once again, a great turn-out for work! The Neutral Zone wall expansion is now complete and we dare say the Neutral Zone is about 15-20% bigger thanks to all the work put in by Glenn and his crew. Ward was also nice enough to get started on cleaning the interior of the NZ, which is looking great!

Glenn, Scotty B. Todd and the rest of the crew putting up the new NZ panels

The former Bartman Camper area next to Fangorn was also raked clean of any extra debris left over from the demolition.

The Bartman camper clean-up crew - Bobby is supervising the operation...

Danny and his diligent crew finished up the last bits of the Registration booth, and we've got to say, it's never looked better.

Inside the house, all player tunics were cut, hemmed, and painted. (Thanks Donna for all your help with the "Sewing Machine of Death", I couldn't have done it without you!) Also, we are almost set with all props needed to pull off our opening day scenario. The DVD premier party was this weekend, and reception was great. Thank you everyone that took time out of their weekend to come out. It is greatly appreciated!

March 10th and 11th

All we can say is WOW. Thank you to our HUGE crew that showed up on this warm weekend to help out! All the metal from the Robot Factory and Bartman's Camper was loaded and removed, signs were made for "Edge City", and materials were brought and building started on the Neutral Zone wall expansion. So much was accomplished; we just can't thank everyone enough... but we'll try... THANK YOU THANK YOU!

February 24, 2007

Thanks to Beth (Hammer's Girl) and James, our last two groundhogs for the 2007 season, for all the hard work this weekend. More work was done taking it to those few remaining briars behind the Splat City rails. Those pesky plants were also cut down around the Tee Pee area. In addition, all the posts left over from BOO! were taken to Fangorn, to be put in their final resting place once the warmer weather hits. That was hard work moving those posts up that slippery hill, thanks for helping out!

YET ANOTHER RECORD FOR SPLATMANDU! Previous record for Groundhogs was broken in 2005 with 38:

Our final count: 45 GROUNDHOGS FOR 2007!

February 17th and 18th 2007

Thanks to Tommy, Briar, Troy, Diane and Eric E. for all the work on the briar patches this weekend! They were able to cut back all the briars on the Splat City rails, as well as around the big tree in the Pasture. Also, the Robot Factory is no more; it's moving on to it's new home at the dump, along with the remnants of Bartman's camper. Thanks again for all your hard work, and probably sore bloody hands! Those briars are sharp!

We have 4 more Groundhogs to add to the list this week. Special thanks to Chris, Josh and Stephanie, and Michelle Horning for all your help dragging cut trees for John, as well as breaking apart the old Bartman camper for burning and removal. We're well on our way to accomplishing all of our pre-season work. Thank you all that have donated your time to help!

February 3rd 2007

Boy was it cold out there this weekend! Thank you everyone who braved the sub-zero temps to help us out on a RECORD-BREAKING first day of Groundhog work, with 34 VOLUNTEERS! Much of the remaining SplatmanBOO! props and materials were picked up, and the camper next to Fangorn was completely disassembled, ready to be loaded onto a trailer and away from the property! We were also able to finish some of the props needed for this year's upcoming Scenario, thanks to some patience and painting skills! Thank you to Ted, Ray, Alex and Jon Baker, Joe, Todd and Amanda, Eric C, and Matt Goodman, Mike and Cindy King, Josh W., Dan Lucas, Adam, Kevin, Poe and Junior, Brian and Adam Muir, Tim and Andrew, Justin (aka Hammer), Horning, Scotty B and Olivia, Glenn, Korey, Rod and Sheilla, and Tony. Plus, Kathy, (painting cows), John Rowan, (Hornet's Nest wall - all off season) and Nate and Jen, who were with us in spirit, at home still finishing up the 5 year DVD.
