Painted Forest
This is the first field you see as you enter Splatmandu territory.
You can either take the road around the Painted Forest or walk the path that cuts through it. Of the combined 26 acres of Splatmandu, the Painted Forest spans approximately 10 acres and is split by two forts: Fort Tippman and Fort Mag. The entire field is woods with all natural stick bunkers (some of which are chest or head high). There are also a few five foot deep fox holes. In recent years we have added a few additional buildings: the Hillbilly Shack (closer to the Hornet’s Nest), the Witches’ Chateau (in the middle of the Painted Forest), and the Bayou Shack (at the front-edge of the property). This field stretches all the way from the path entrance to the back side of the Mine Field and the Hornet’s Nest. In the summer the foliage gets very thick. . . watch out for snipers! If you like the woods this is the field for you.
