News Updates - February 6, 2010

Welcome to Season 16 of Splatmandu Paintball Club. This Saturday was the kick-off to Groundhog work on the fields. Thank you to our first 33 Groundhogs of 2010! A lot got accomplished in a short period of time. The first round of deteriorated items were removed from the Neutral Zone supply pile and was taken to the yard for burning. The Jail in the City was also removed as well as a few broken pallets from the Hornet’s Nest. Miscellaneous BOO! items were also removed from the fields.

Up at the house, Tony spent the afternoon preparing a delectable Chili as well as a red-velvet cake (in celebration of all our February Birthdays) for the crew. Thanks Tony! It was delicious!

Thanks go out to: Ted and Kathy, Karl and Shannon, Tony, Nate and Jen, Todd and Amanda, Alex, Chuck, Rod, Rendell, Joe, Easterday, Scotty B. and Olivia, Johnny, Josh and Stephanie, Chad T., Bruce, Brian, Brad, Jake, James, Amy and Jon, Justin, Alayna, Andrew, Jeremiah and Hayden.

In addition, special thanks go out to Rod - for offering his continued help with the paint and air for the store, Jen - for continuing to update the Splatmandu Website, and Scotty B. and Ted - for writing the story for War Games 2010. Thanks also are deserved for Eric Easterday - who has agreed to tackle the first round of T-Shirts for the Reds for this season. We are still looking for a talented individual for the Blue team to join Ted and Scotty B. in the writing of this year’s story. Anyone with the creative vision - please contact Ted or Kathy for more information.

Work will continue every Saturday at 12:00 NOON. In order to be a Groundhog, you have to sweat in February. We would love to have a record-breaking turn-out this year, so please, if you have no plans one of these Saturdays, come on out! Without the help of our club members, Splatmandu cannot continue. We’ve got a great start, so let’s keep it going!
