HAPPY
MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL THE WIVES AND WOMEN OF SPLATMANDU!
No paintballs were thrown today due to the soggy cold
weather, but that's ok, because your moms needed you all
at home today anyway! On Saturday, no volunteers showed
up to help us with our much-needed work projects in the
City and Mine field, so the few Key Members on property
helped out around the house. Ted and Kathy got all the
fields mowed, Shannon and Jen did some landscaping work
around the house, and Karl, Nate and Tony got some other
odds-and-ends completed around the property.

Great
day for a scenario! Thank you to our newest 43
members to Splatmandu this weekend; glad you gave
us a try!
For
the second installment of the Time Warp Scenario, the
House of Apollo had 67 players, and the House of
War had 62. Off the break, The House of Apollo
was at a disadvantage, having arrived last to the land
of the Treasure Hunt (2001), and having to exit the Alamo
Time tunnel single-file into the land. Both the houses
arrived at the newest Time Tunnel, Fangorn at about
the same time, and a viscous battle ensued for the hour.
The House of War successfully transported 17 players
to the next location in Splatmandu History, as well as
transported the Keystone and Guardian's Tunic, for 500
points. The House of Apollo transported 21
players, earning their House 1,000
points for the day. The Native Pirates to these lands
successfully protected the medallions, that if had been
stolen by the houses, would have earned their team an
additional 500 points each.
This
brings our team totals so far this year to:
Apollo:
1,000 and War: 2,000

Another
great day of paintball and hanging with friends. Thank
you to our 23 new members who signed a waiver with
us today. Glad to meet you, and hope to see more of you!
Time is drawing near for May's scenario... hope you are
as excited as we are!

What
a change from last weekend! With temperatures hovering
around the 80 degree mark for much of the day, it brought
out many new and old players, for a great day of Paintball!
Thank you to the 32 new members for coming out
today... glad to have you! Rules for the May Scenario
Sunday are expected to be available next Monday... so
hang in there guys!

Well
what a snowy terrible day. We had a low turn-out and few
players today, but a lot got done inside for May's Scenario,
so at least it wasn't a total loss. Thank you to the six
new club members for signing a waiver today... hope
to see you again when the weather is a bit more cooperative!
Also, thank you to Josh, Stephanie and Korey, who "held
down the fort" out back. We really appreciate it!

What
a wonderful day for paintball. All of your good Karma
and good deeds brought us the warmest day of the year,
and about 210 waivers were signed today!
We honored MANY of our 2008 Pre-Season 110%ers as follows:
Nate and Jen, Karl and Shannon, Jon, Amy, Alayna,
Scotty B. and Olivia, Josh and Stephanie, Ray, Tommy,
Brier, Tony, Alex, Chris, Bruce, Brian, Stephanie, Lee,
Rod, Colby, Travis, "Other" Nate, Red-Headed
James, Pepsi Guy (Josh), Todd, Justin and Beth, Ian, Kyle
Jessen, Fred Wolf, Dan W., Mike K., Mike Goodwin, Darrell
and Jared Short, Horning, Joe, and Eric Fritz.
Thank you all for everything you have done to get our
fields ready. Your help makes a difference... more than
you know, and we all appreciate it.

Ted
announcing the "Decade of Dominance" - 10 Year
appreciation pin recipients:
Joe
Neal, John Rowan and Karl Ruedger
Today
we also honored three members of Splatmandu, Joe
Neal, John Rowan, and Karl Ruedger,
for having been club members now TEN YEARS! This year
will be known as their "Decade of Dominance."
Thank you for always giving the club 110% and being a
member of the Splatmandu Family for this long... we hope
for many more with you guys.

For
Opening Day's Time Warp Scenario, the House of Apollo
had 90 players, and the House of War had 91.
A viscous battle ensued with the Red Fist, who were guarding
the Alamo Time Tunnel. It appears both teams agreed
upon a truce to mount an attack on the Red Fist, to allow
for their safe passage through the Tunnel. Unbeknownst
to the two Houses, the Red Fist were re-designated to
a new objective at the end of the first hour. Joining
forces and newly undeterred, the House of Apollo successfully
transported 80 players to the next location in
Splatmandu History, and the House of War transported 82
players, as well as the Keystone and Guardian's Tunic,
earning the House of War 1,500 points
for the day.

The
Guardian's Tunic and the Keystone
We
thank you all for a great Opening Day to our 2008 season!

Preparation
for Opening Day was started this weekend. All the fields
were given the once-over, removing all debris and left-over
Haunt supplies, making everything safe and secure for
our opening weekend. The Neutral zone was cleaned up,
and some of the tables were re-painted. Thank you to our
large clean-up crew, the property looks great! For those
that don't check the forum, let it be known that the
field is CLOSED to all for Saturday, April 5th 2008,
as we need time to get props situated and boundaries twined.
This will be true of EVERY SATURDAY before a Scenario,
so keep this in mind for the rest of the year as well.
Take
Saturday off and make sure your gear is ready!
We
are expecting large numbers for Opening day, so get here
early to secure your spot in the Neutral Zone. There will
be A LOT of people out there, so if possible, try to keep
your gear tidied up as to try and accommodate those arriving
later. The registration booth opens at 10:30am,
so make sure you get signed up. Remember : NO
walking the fields anytime prior to game start.
Once you have signed in, Neutral Zone to parking areas
ONLY. We have lots of cool stuff out there that we don't
want spoiled by "wandering eyes." Thank
you all; we expect this to be a great scenario. PLAY WITH
HONOR... see you soon!

Just
when we thought Spring was here, BAM! ... more snow...
Thanks to those who came out this past weekend. We really
appreciate it. Due to the circumstances, not a lot got
done, except a little bit was picked up in the Hornet's
Nest. Thanks for the effort!
Also,
the snow gave us that last little nudge to get the DVDs
finally finished up this weekend, and we have begun to
burn the copies for all you die-hard fans for Opening
day!

What
an amazing turn-out ! We had more people than projects
to complete it seemed! In the Mine Field, the Church was
demolished and re-built further down the hill, the Saloon
was re-faced, a new porch was added, and new side walls
installed, and one wall was removed from the Jail - to
be re-built next weekend. The STARS project in the Neutral
Zone was completed and most of the netting was re-installed.
Thank you again for all of your hard work this weekend!
March

Thank
you again to all of you that came out to work today! The
STARS project in the Neutral Zone is coming along quite
nicely, and Ray, Chris and Alex got the front of the Alamo
entrance completed (minus some rough-cut edging). It's
great to see the Alamo's new edition, as that project
was forcefully abandoned last season.
Thank
you all and have a great week!

Another
nice work weekend! Thanks to those that came out! More
work was done to the Neutral Zone project, as well as
more stick bunkers were added to the front yard property
line, this time on the left side of the road.
A
special thank you to Eric Fritz for driving
up from Chicago to help Joe and Jen with the website's
new forum conversion, as well as DVD cover art and disks.
We don't get to see you that often, so it was a pleasure
visiting with you, if only for a short while!
House

House of War
Shannon
and Jen finished up the Apollo and War tunics, (which
look great) and more scenario dynamics were nailed down.
Thank
you again for all your pre-season enthusiasm, and we will
see you all next weekend!

Spring
sure is getting closer isn't it? For those that joined
us to work this weekend, we thank you! Special thanks
to Fred and Travis for
your work in the Neutral Zone project.
Our
final count for Groundhogs of 2008: 49!!!
Many
of the rest of us tackled one of the few spots on the
property to never have been groomed... the roadside.

Many
dead trees and tree tops were cut up and an excellent
wall was built. Plenty of work still needs to be done,
but make sure you go "ooh-ahh" as you pull in
the driveway, as it looks great! Thank you all for your
efforts!
And
last but not least, Congratulations to Matt (Junior) and
his wife Danielle on the birth of their baby boy, Bryan
(Junior Jr.) on February 21st. Welcome to the Splatmandu
family!

The
weather was a bit better this weekend! Thanks go out to
Shannon, Karl, Kyle
Jessen, (Uncle) Mike Keith,
Jared Short, Darrell Short,
Mike Goodwin, and James for
coming out to help! This brings our Groundhog total
to 47 so far for the 2008 season. More sticks were
picked up in the forest, the Alamo was forcefully disassembled,
and plans for the Neutral Zone were started. Also, we
would like to thank Josh and Stephanie, as well
as Justin and Beth for bringing out food for the
workers, giving Ted a much-deserved Saturday off from
cooking! Also, happy belated birthday to Jon Baker,
as well as an early happy birthday to Eric Easterday!
Finally,
all of us at Splatmandu would like to wish a hearty good
luck to Jason and Donna Tippett, who
are making the move to Tulsa, Oklahoma this week for wonderful
job opportunities. You will be sorely missed, and we wish
you all the luck and success in the world. Remember we
are all here for you, and come back to visit!

A
special thanks go out to our 5 newest Groundhogs
of the season for braving the temperatures and weather
to join us for some woods work this weekend! Thank you
to Dando, Chris, Jon,
Andrew and Hayden for
all your help!

Ted's
Reds would like to announce the addition of two new
members to their Specialty Force. Congratulations go out
to Junior (Matt Richards)
and Korey Blasius for graciously accepting.
The webmaster would also like to apologize for taking
way too long to post this information!

What
a wonderful turnout for our opening day of Groundhog work!
We had over 34 workers come out to work
on the Nest, and let me tell you, it looks GREAT so far!
We would like to thank: Ted and Kathy,
Nate and Jen, Joe,
Katryn, Bruce, Brian,
Lee, Ray, Tommy,
Brier, Horning, Scotty
B. and Olivia, Josh
and Stephanie, Amy,
Alex, Korey, Justin
(Hammer) and Beth, Todd
and Amanda, Tony,
Rod, Justin N., Tim
S., Ronny, Mike,
Josh W., Nate S., Colby,
and Adam for all their hard work! We
know that a few people slipped out without coming in for
the yummy soup that Ted slaved over a hot stove
for hours, and hours, so this is not the complete
list. So for those that we didn't mention, please let
us know your name(s), so you can be added! Also, please
check out the first installment of this year's scenario
story, written by our
own Joe Neal (aka SOBWAL). It's great folks, so enjoy,
and we'll see you next weekend!
